In the North Sound, there are eight federally-recognized tribes who steward their traditional homelands and care for the well-being of their citizens. Take an opportunity to familiarize yourself with the tribes that are within each county of the North Sound region.

Tribal-Serving Organizations in Collaborative Action Network

  • – Setting Sun Circle is an Indigenous-led nonprofit organization that weaves together storytelling, education, and research to amplify Native voices and inspire collective action to protect Mother Earth.
  • – Coast Salish Youth Coalition lifts up the next generation of culturally connected practitioners of traditional foods and the environment in Coast Salish country.
  • – Sxwilisen House of Healing (Lummi Nation) is focused on providing culturally-relevant healing services to Indigenous individuals and families. 
  • – Decolonize Sports works to Indigenize sports media and share Native stories of Indigenous athletes.
  • – Lhaq’temish Foundation (Lummi Nation) focuses on strength-based projects, culture and empowerment, to build a stronger community for future generations.
  • – Northwest Washington Indian Health Board provides public health services and advocates for improvements in Native health for tribes in northwest Washington.
