Shawn Morris
Dr. Shawn Morris serves as Public Health Director for Island County, where he guides cross-disciplinary teams working to advance safety, environmental resilience, and community well-being. Originally from Whidbey Island, he earned his BA in Geography from the University of Washington and his Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in 2017.
Before entering public service, Dr. Morris provided primary care to underserved families in Snohomish County. His commitment to prevention and systems-level change led him to leadership roles in state and local government, where he focuses on data-informed policy, service delivery, and collaborative solutions that strengthen public health systems. He is currently completing a Master of Public Health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, concentrating on epidemiology, leadership, and health policy.
