Shannon Main joined North Sound ACH as a Care Coordination Specialist in September 2024. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Communication Sciences and Disorders from Western Washington University. With over 13 years of experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and a background as a Community Case Manager, Shannon has seen firsthand how barriers in technology and documentation can negatively impact access to healthcare services.
Her passion lies in empowering staff to effectively use EHR systems, ensuring proper documentation that supports high-quality care for clients and community members. Shannon’s personal experience navigating the healthcare system adds a deep sense of purpose to her work. Having faced inaccurate mental health documentation and the stigma that followed, she is a strong advocate for listening to clients, honoring their voices, and letting individuals define their own needs.
Shannon is driven by a commitment to reduce inequalities in healthcare, especially for those facing barriers such as financial limitations, lack of private insurance, language obstacles, or inadequate transportation. Her work is guided by the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to be heard and to receive the care they need and deserve.
