Michaela Vendiola, BA

Tribal & Community Liaison (She/Her)

Michaela is our Tribal and Community Liaison, and is an enrolled tribal member of the Walker River Paiute Tribe and a direct descendant of the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community. Michaela was born in Bellingham and raised on the Lummi Indian Reservation. Before coming to the North Sound ACH in 2019, she served as the Community Health Representative for the Home Visit Program at the Lummi Tribal Health Center while also graduating from Western Washington University.

Her passion for this work comes from seeing that there is a need to have multidimensional, equitable well-being and wellness at the community, family, and individual levels in the region. She believes that well-being and wellness across all of these levels is achievable, and is currently underway and coming into existence in the North Sound region. Through her experience at North Sound ACH, Michaela strongly believes that the use of Targeted Universalism approaches is an opportune path towards accessible and equitable healthcare in the North Sound region.
