Meg Stephenson, MA

Director of Communications (she/her)

Megan joined the North Sound ACH in 2021 with direct experience as a Community Health Worker, patient advocate, and Washington State insurance navigator in Whatcom County. Previously, she worked as a journalist in Iowa, Hawaii, and Washington State. She graduated with a Master’s in Anthropology at Western Washington University in 2016, conducting an original community health project in rural Hawaii.

She’s excited to bring all her experience together, working for health equity and collaboration in our communities through clear and narrative-driven communication strategies. She believes through knowledge can come self-determination; she has seen people and communities struggle, and is driven to help, because she has also seen how people can thrive with creative solutions. She takes her own experience, and the perspectives of others to guide a bird’s eye view approach at the ACH, advocating for systemic change and thriving quality of life.
