Matt Main joined North Sound ACH in July of 2023 as the Community Impact & Evaluation Specialist. He graduated with a BA in Political Science from Western Washington University, through coursework focused on environmental issues and an internship with the Washington State Legislature he decided to pursue a career dedicated to public service. He brings experience working, and eventually supervising, the Opportunity Council’s Community Resource Center; working directly with Whatcom County residents experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, or having trouble fulfilling basic needs. Prior to this, he worked with the City of Bellingham’s Aquatic Invasive Species program, inspecting watercraft, monitoring Lake Whatcom and Lake Samish, and educating residents about the issues facing Whatcom County’s drinking water supply.

Matt is most excited to be joining an organization doing system-level work to improve health and well-being for all communities!
