Emilio Vela, Jr. is an expert with over 25 years of experience in government, private, and nonprofit management and leadership, and a strong supporter of individual and community empowerment and self-determination. He has been in leadership positions with county/state agencies, nonprofits, governor’s council, and a board member in state and national behavioral and healthcare advocacy organizations. He is a B.A. graduate of the University of Washington and obtained his Masters in Public Administration with a specialty in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from Walden University.
Emilio is married to his wife Quina, and they have a daughter and a son, and three grandchildren. He possesses a strong vision of community-based organizations commitment to providing quality, comprehensive health and human services to diverse communities, specializing in service to Latinos and special populations. Emilio believes in partnering among customers, Board, staff and communities to provide affordable and accessible quality services. Emilio believes in providing leadership and advocacy to empower our communities.
