People Of Color (POC) Gatherings are monthly virtual meetings for and by POC living and working in the state of Washington. This is an intergenerational virtual safe space for POC to come together, connect and support one another in healing, learning, and finding ways to take social and political action. Interested?
Email POCGatherings@NorthsoundACH.org with to be added to the email list and if you have any questions.
How it Began
In the midst of the murder of George Floyd and so many other people of color at the hands of law enforcement, as well as the associated uprisings in the spring and summer of 2020, North Sound ACH was approached by a staff member of one of our partner organizations who brought forth the need for a space where people of color could gather, let down their guards, and process together.
North Sound ACH is honored to offer resources to support this group. With the help of SEED Collaborative, the first convening for people of color took place on June 22, 2020 and have been scheduled monthly since then. Read more about the origins of the group in this blog post.
POC Gatherings are held on the 1st Thursday of each month, 3:30 – 5 p.m. on Zoom. Email POCGatherings@NorthsoundACH.org to be added to the email list and receive a calendar invite with the Zoom link.
