This fund is intended to alleviate some of the financial barriers to wellness for BIPOC leaders in the North Sound region. A few notes about language and eligibility:
- – Our goal is to have an inclusive definition of leadership, which is broader than traditional organizational titles. Individuals leading impactful change in their communities are encouraged to apply, regardless of whether their work is affiliated with an organization.
- – We recognize that healing happens in community – while this opportunity is intended for individual applicants, it does not preclude activities/services that are relational or community-based as long as the other parameters are met.
- – We recognize that wellness has different meanings for different people, and expect that requests will cover a wide range of services. These could include, but are not limited to: movement classes, gym memberships, massage or other bodywork, culturally relevant wellness activities, professional development services (e.g. classes, coaching, conferences), wellness retreats.
- – For some examples of how we think about wellness, check out the following resources: Vital Conditions for Wellbeing, Cantril Ladder, 8 Domains of Wellness.
- – You may request up to $5,000 – we encourage you to ask for what you need while keeping in mind that many others will also be requesting funds. Our goal is to share our limited resources as widely as possible.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year, and our team will review submissions quarterly. If your request is time-sensitive, please include that information in your application.
If you have any questions about the information above, or your potential application, please reach out to us at Team@NorthSoundACH.org.
